Playwriting Competition Now Open: Submit Your Plays by October 10, 2024.
Today marks the beginning of the first stage of our Lab: we are now accepting play submissions. Here are the key requirements:
🔵 We welcome plays written by authors from Belarus, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, and Estonia, as well as by authors from these countries who have been living in exile between 2022 and 2024.
🔵 The plays should reflect, in an artistic form, the events and changes of recent years. Possible themes include the human condition during wartime, relationships between people, transformations in the consciousness of Europeans, refugees, or emigrants, or other topics related to the political and historical events of 2022–2024.
🔵 Plays may be written in the author’s native language, but if you have a translation in English or German, please submit that as well.
Please send your play (in PDF format) along with the application form (available for download here) to project@urban-theater.com by 23:59 on October 10. The longlist will be published on October 15, 2024.
